Official Announcement from The GSLC Official 📢

Hello everyone,
We would like to take a moment to share some important updates and reflections regarding the journey of the Global Sign Language Community (GSLC). Since the launch of our first community presentation, we have experienced both great achievements and challenging moments. From the beginning, our goal has always been to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive space for members around the world to connect and celebrate the beauty of sign language. For several months, our team worked hard together on our Discord server, organizing events, building engagement, and improving communication.

However, as time passed, we began to experience difficulties within our staff team. Some members became less active or were unable to participate in our community events, which unfortunately slowed down our progress. In addition, internal disagreements and conflicts arose between certain staff members. These tensions created discomfort, misunderstandings, and unnecessary drama that affected the harmony and motivation within our team.

One particular situation became especially serious when a former staff member, who previously held a position of authority within our community, made several harsh, inappropriate, and deeply concerning decisions that negatively affected both the team and the overall well-being of our members. During this difficult period, actions were taken without proper communication, consultation, or consideration for the feelings and efforts of others. These choices resulted in confusion, mistrust, and a loss of morale among those who had been working tirelessly to maintain harmony and progress within the Global Sign Language Community.

Out of respect for privacy and fairness, we will not be disclosing any names or personal information regarding those involved, and we kindly ask that no one attempts to contact, harass, or confront any individuals connected to this situation, whether through Discord, social media, or other platforms. Our primary goal is not to assign blame or reignite past tensions, but rather to promote understanding, accountability, and healing as we move forward together.

Throughout this situation, several of our dedicated staff members were unfairly affected:

ChristianNar, who contributed immense time, creativity, and passion toward decorating, organizing, and nurturing our community, went far beyond the usual expectations of a staff member. He devoted countless hours designing event spaces, creating resources, guiding new members, and ensuring that every corner of our Discord server felt welcoming and inclusive. ChristianNar was often the driving force behind community activities, volunteering to take on responsibilities that others could not, always striving to maintain a positive and engaging environment for all members.

Despite his unwavering dedication, ChristianNar faced a lot of unfair treatment, including multiple demotions and false accusations. His work was often disregarded, ridiculed, or overwritten by former staff members, and some even attempted to take credit or pride for his contributions without acknowledging his efforts. These actions caused significant emotional distress, frustration, and feelings of being undermined. ChristianNar experienced emotional pain and depression as a result, yet he refused to let these challenges stop him from supporting the community. His ability to persevere, remain committed, and continue contributing selflessly demonstrates extraordinary resilience, loyalty, and a profound passion for the mission of GSLC. Even in the face of personal hurt, ChristianNar consistently put the community first, prioritizing the well-being of members, maintaining harmony, and striving to uplift others. His dedication, creativity, and heart for this community have left an indelible mark and serve as a powerful example of selfless leadership and perseverance under difficult circumstances.

Jennifer, a Moderator and ASL teacher, has faced immense personal challenges throughout her life and has demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience. She is a survivor who has endured many hardships, mistakes, and difficult times, yet she has continued to grow, learn, and contribute positively to the community. Despite being subjected to gossip, bullying, and pressure from others that at times even pushed her toward self-harm, Jennifer remained committed to helping and supporting others.

Her private life has sometimes been shared without her consent, causing deep emotional pain, yet she has consistently worked to rise above these hurtful situations. Jennifer values respect and boundaries, and she asks to be treated according to her comfort and personal limits. Even in the face of these challenges, she has continued to dedicate herself willingly to the Global Sign Language Community as both an ASL teacher and a Moderator. Her contributions are a testament to her resilience, commitment, and unwavering desire to empower others while protecting her own well-being. Jennifer’s journey reminds us that even in moments of hardship and personal struggle, dedication, courage, and self-respect can coexist. She continues to support the GSLC with passion, professionalism, and inspiring strength, ensuring that the community grows in a positive, safe, and inclusive direction.

Wardragon, another Moderator, became involved in the confusion surrounding staff conflicts. Wardragon consistently expressed that he disliked being involved in any type of toxicity or drama, and he worked to maintain a calm and supportive environment while helping stabilize the community during this challenging period. Wardragon also faced unfair demotions and false accusations by a former staff member for no reason, which were deeply frustrating, yet he continued to act with integrity and dedication, prioritizing the well-being of the community over personal conflict.

The efforts and dedication of ChristianNar, Jennifer, and Wardragon reflect the true spirit of GSLC. The unfair treatment they faced, including manipulation, gossip, repeated demotions, and false accusations, was deeply disheartening and contradictory to the principles of respect, collaboration, and inclusivity that our community stands for.

We want to acknowledge the emotional impact that these events had, not only on the individuals directly involved but also on the rest of the team who witnessed the resulting tension and division. Seeing such behavior within a space meant to promote unity and understanding was incredibly painful and discouraging for all of us. However, we also recognize that from this experience, we have learned valuable lessons about leadership, communication, and the importance of maintaining integrity even during challenging times. Moving forward, we are fully committed to creating a safer, more supportive, and transparent environment where all members and staff can thrive without fear of judgment, favoritism, or unfair treatment.

In response to these challenges, we have dedicated ourselves to building a new and improved version of our community, incorporating better structure, clearer communication, and a renewed commitment to respect, collaboration, and inclusion. Over the past few months, our new community team has worked tirelessly to implement upgrades, organize engaging events, and ensure that all staff members are fully aligned with the vision and values of GSLC. This renewed foundation allows us to move forward with greater unity, enthusiasm, and purpose.

It is with great pride and excitement that we officially announce the relaunch of the Global Sign Language Community (GSLC). This is a fresh start, a chance to grow together, and an invitation for all members, both longtime supporters and new participants, to join us in building a positive, welcoming, and inspiring space for learning, sharing, and celebrating sign language.

We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to ChristianNar, Jennifer, and Wardragon, whose dedication, creativity, and tireless work were instrumental in keeping this community alive and vibrant. Despite facing hurt, confusion, and unfair treatment, they continued to contribute selflessly, embodying the true spirit of GSLC and inspiring all of us to continue striving for excellence, inclusivity, and collaboration.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and ongoing support during this transition. Together, we will make the Global Sign Language Community stronger, brighter, and more united than ever before.
